Applications for Orthopedic & Neurological Patient Populations

16-20 July 2009 (5-day course) in Cairns/Australia

Expand your aquatic therapy skills by learning Watsu with internationally renowned Watsu instructor and physiotherapist, Peggy Schoedinger. This advanced aquatic therapy seminar will provide in-depth instruction in the uses and adaptations of Watsu techniques in a clinical setting for the treatment of orthopedic and neurological impairments. The emphasis will be on extensive instruction and practice time in the pool. Videos will be shown of these techniques in use with a variety of orthopedic and neurological patient populations. Learn how to use these techniques to decrease spasticity, decrease muscle spasm, decrease pain and increase range of motion. Detailed handouts will cover all of the techniques. Come learn the incredible possibilities of Watsu for your clients! Prerequisite: Some aquatic bodywork training (either Watsu 1, AQUATERNATIVES® foundation or Basic Healing Dance).Peggy has taught this course for participant with a wide range of experiences. This class includes most of Watsu I, some of Watsu II and some of Peggy’s Watsu III Adapted. It's the best of the best of Watsu for working with people with special needs. If people have already taken Watsu I and II, then some of the class will be review for them, and they will be learning how to adapt and modify it.
